A FEW TIPS
Firstly don’t say “oh I can’t do this I’m not artistic!”
For beginners, particularly children as young as five and six it is essential to watch the video first to understand about the way in which I draw from a life model. After that it’s best to start with the videos on the facial features and work up to the full portraits. Remember not to challenge yourself too much because all artistic natured children/people have a high level of perfection and become easily upset if they do not achieve a ‘good’ result in the first go. Easy does it, slow down and breathe is the way I do things when my own painting offers too many challenges all in one go! The videos should be viewed and worked from many times over as the only way to improve is through practise so don’t be impatient. Over time continue to watch and to draw from all of the videos and you will see how your work develops.
