A FEW TIPS

Firstly don’t say “oh I can’t do this I’m not artistic!”

For beginners, particularly children as young as five and six it is essential to watch the video first to understand about the way in which I draw from a life model. After that it’s best to start with the videos on the facial features and work up to the full portraits. Remember not to challenge yourself too much because all artistic natured children/people have a high level of perfection and become easily upset if they do not achieve a ‘good’ result in the first go. Easy does it, slow down and breathe is the way I do things when my own painting offers too many challenges all in one go! The videos should be viewed and worked from many times over as the only way to improve is through practise so don’t be impatient. Over time continue to watch and to draw from all of the videos and you will see how your work develops.

We really enjoyed ourselves. I thought the pace was good and we liked the two screens, where we could see the drawing and what you were doing.

“After some very long holidays … Greg has resumed his classes online with our brilliantly creative Terry Taylor. Terry made a series of video tutorials of How to Draw a Human Face. Greg’s first choice was doing an Eye and the Teeth. Looking forward to doing more!!” – Lena

“We did it!! Ally says the eyes were the hardest part so she had to re-do it but still managed to pick up pace. She also added earring just to stay true to the character. Thank you Terry, wonderful tutorial and we sure will watch and practice again!”

Jordarna Eloise

Eloise is about to turn 6. I was a little concerned that she may be too young for classes but she loved it. She thought it was ‘the best’ and also that you are ‘super good’.  I sketched along with her and really enjoyed myself too. It’s great to be able to pause as well via video. Thank you.
